New Study Presented at Experimental Biology (Poster: E380) Shows nooLVL Improves Cognitive Functioning in Esports Gamers
Study results show nooLVL® can improve concentration, attention, visual processing, and other key cognitive performance markers in esports gamers.
Saddle Brook, NJ: Nutrition21, LLC (“Nutrition21”) recently conducted multiple computer-based cognitive tests through the online platform Cambridge Brain Sciences to study the effects of nooLVL in esports gamers. The tests produced significant results that back previous findings involving gamers and nooLVL. nooLVL, a patented complex of Bonded Arginine Silicate with an optimized dose of Inositol, is a non-stimulant nootropic ingredient that enhances cognitive performance in fast-paced esports competitions. nooLVL has been clinically shown to work fast to increase energy1 without the addition of caffeine as well as to increase focus2 and accuracy and improves reaction time.
Previous nooLVL Findings
nooLVL was the first esports ingredient to be clinically studied in gamers.
A 2019, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial found nooLVL significantly increases mental acuity and focus2 within 15 minutes. It also showed that nooLVL significantly improves accuracy (reduces errors), as well as attention and reaction time in gamers, even after 60 minutes of gaming.2
New Study: Tests & Results
To support existing studies on the effects of nooLVL, the new study presented at the Experimental Biology 2022 meeting examined healthy adult males and females, ages 18-32, who received 1600mg of nooLVL® per day for seven days. Each subject was asked to take multiple computer-based cognitive performance tests prior to supplementation, at baseline, the first day after baseline, and seven days after supplementation. These tests were designed to show how nooLVL influences the cognitive abilities and performance of esports gamers.
Results showed that nooLVL led to3
- Significant improvement from baseline to day 1, baseline to day 7, and day 1 to day 7 was found on measures of attention/concentration (Double Trouble Stroop Test.)
- Significant improvement from baseline to day 1 and baseline to day 7 was found in visual representation (Mental Rotation Test.)
- Significant improvement from baseline to day 7 was found in forethought/sequencing (Spatial Planning Test.)

Based on this study in esports gamers and previous findings, a single dose of nooLVL enhances performance on concentration, visual representation, forethought, and visual processing. University of Arkansas Publishes a New Study on the Cognitive Benefits of Nutrition21's Sports Performance Ingredient, Nitrosigine®
Harrison, New York: Nutrition21, LLC (“Nutrition21”) announced today that new research on the cognitive benefits of Nitrosigine®, a patented complex of Bonded Arginine Silicate has been published in Nutrients.
The patented complex of Nitrosigine has been linked to increased nitric oxide (NO) availability, which is known to enhance vasodilation, blood flow, exercise performance, and mental acuity. This study was designed to show how Nitrosigine works on cognitive functions, such as memory, attention, language, and processing speed, among other areas.
The double-blind, crossover placebo-controlled study observed 16 participants, ages 18-28 years old, during two separate trials, each of which were approximately three hours in length. During the study, three cognitive tests were performed — Repeatable Battery for the Assessment of Neuropsychological Status (RBANS), Digital Image Pairs, and Digital Symbol Match. The results were recorded both before and after consuming Nitrosigine (1.5 grams + 8 grams of dextrose) or placebo (8 grams of dextrose). After the first trial was completed, a second trial took place seven days later.
The results of the trials showed that immediate memory performance in the Nitrosigine group significantly improved compared to the placebo group between trials. The introduction of Nitrosigine also maintained delayed memory scores in comparison to the placebo group for which delayed memory scores decreased. Nitrosigine also significantly increased the total RBANS scores showing an 11% increase with Nitrosigine supplementation. The immediate memory scores showed a 27% increase with Nitrosigine supplementation. The study confirmed that enhanced cognitive functioning is correlated with consumption of Nitrosigine.

New Research Published in Nutrients on Nutrition21's Esports Nootropic Ingredient, nooLVL®
Harrison, New York: Nutrition21, LLC (“Nutrition21”) announced today that new research on the cognitive benefits of nooLVL, a patented complex of Bonded Arginine Silicate with an additional optimized dose of Inositol, has been published in Nutrients. The study, performed at Texas A&M University, demonstrated that nooLVL significantly increases cognitive performance in gamers after a single dose and within 15 minutes.
The double blind, randomized, placebo controlled, crossover trial was conducted in 26 male and female experienced gamers who were randomly assigned to consume 1600 mg of nooLVL or 1600 mg of a placebo (PLA).
During testing sessions, participants completed stimulant sensitivity questionnaires and performed a variety of cognitive function tests. Fifteen minutes following ingestion, participants repeated these tests (Pre-Game) and then played their favorite video game for 1 hour and repeated the battery of tests (Post-Game). Study subjects observed a 7 to 14-day washout period and then replicated the study with the alternative treatment. Results showed that nooLVL enhanced short-term and working memory, reaction time, and concentration.
The new data supports prior research on nooLVL for improving cognitive benefits for esports gamers, who rely on quick reactions, focus, memory, and fine motor skills to excel during competition, skills that are especially important when they are facing off against each other in high stakes tournaments and events.

HARRISON, N.Y., July 27, 2021 (Newswire.com) – Nutrition21, LLC (“Nutrition21”) today announced new research published in the Journal of Exercise and Nutrition that demonstrates benefits of Velositol (an amylopectinchromium complex) when combined with 15 grams of protein for those engaged in resistance training.
Prior research has shown that supplementation with Velositol combined with a 6-gram dose of whey protein increased rates of muscle protein synthesis compared to whey protein alone. The purpose of this study was to examine if chronic supplementation with Velositol plus a higher dose of protein could impact resistance training adaptations, recovery, and biomarkers of safety.
The double-blind, active-controlled study used 35 recreationally active men that were randomized to one of three groups: 2 grams of Velositol + 15 grams of whey protein isolate, 15 grams of whey protein isolate alone, and 30 grams of whey protein isolate alone. Subjects consumed their respective supplement immediately following resistance exercise on days when training occurred and at the same time of day on non-training days. At 0, 4, and 8 weeks of training, body composition, whole-body protein balance, upper body and lower body performance, and visual analog scale scores for recovery, sleep quality, energy, willingness to train, and muscle soreness were assessed.

New data reinforces nooLVL’s cognitive performance benefits.
Harrison, New York: Nutrition21, LLC Nutrition21unveiled new research on the cognitive benefits of nooLVL (arginine silicate + inositol) at the International Society of Sports Nutrition’s (ISSN) Annual conference in mid-June.
This new data strengthens the evidence behind nooLVL for improving cognitive benefits for esports gamers, who rely on quick reactions, focus, memory, and fine motor skills to excel during competition. These skills are especially important when gamers are facing off against each other in high stakes tournaments and events. One of the most important skills for gamers is reaction time (RT). RT is the time it takes for your central nervous system to respond to stimuli. Once this message is received by the brain, it is turned into a physical or mental response.
The new study, Effects of Arginine Silicate and Inositol Ingestion on Cognitive and Executive Function in Gamers, performed at Texas A&M University, examined whether nooLVL ingestion had effects prior to and following a 1-hour gaming challenge on cognitive function. This new data found evidence of enhanced short- term memory, RT, reasoning, and concentration among gamers following nooLVL supplementation. This further supports the existing findings.
